Luminary (Moonflower)
I usually practice drawing and coloring in my spare time, and I thought that it would be nice to practice by drawing guild members and posting them to share with everyone. I have wanted to try this out for a while now, and since Lyf and lightlord have already posted their own picture journals, I don’t see why not. :D
The first person on the agenda is Lyf:
The next to be drawn is Sylpi:
And after that is Omegakonata:
Ariasu was done next:
And I just finished xtakeshix (I put alot of effort into that hair xD )
Today I just finished Kotobii. This time around, I attempted to draw without using any lineart to guide me. (I basically color-sketched over a sketch xD). This is my first time coloring without lineart, so it's very sloppy, not to mention it takes much longer. But, in spite of that, I really like this style. It's really fun to me, and it makes hair look a little less stiff. It's as if I have more artistic freedom, y'know? :)
I think I improved in coloring the eyes a little, the hair looks okay, but other than that, I don't really see any improvement xD. Maybe in the future, since there's still more to come. I'll be sure to take my time on the next one...
(I guess I'll be adding my signature too from now on...:D)
5.16.12: Tonight I finished Kenkirichan. I took my time like I said I would, and this was the end result. (And look, I drew lips!) The coloring is a little cleaner than last ime, so that's good. The only thing that is bothering me is the anatomy. I always ask myself: Is her head too big? Are her legs just a little bit too short? Does her stance seem natural? Does she look like she has "character"? Are her eyes in a natural position? Does it really look good overall?
Eh...I don't really know xD I'll just keep trying. On to the next one! Ty for the comments also :)
(You know what I noticed...? I haven't drawn any boys yet; Hmm...)
6.3.2012: Today I finished drawing Alexandrial. I sketched her quite some time ago, so I'm not sure what she would look like now. xD I planned on coloring her yesterday, but I was busy with the SATs and what not...Oh well...
(I had fun coloring black hair for the first time though.)
In all honesty, this looks kind of... iffy. Her posture is somewhat off, and her expression appears motionless and somewhat weird. It must be the eyes. Hm, I think I'm regressing a little. xD I should do something about that (y'know, when I'm not lazy). But when I get to the next one, I'll try harder, I promise!
6.4.2012: Today I was searching through bunches of images on Google for a good hour or so, and began contemplating about changing the way I draw faces. So, I decided to pencil sketch Lumi's head just to see (the scanner makes it lighter than it really is). This new style requires me to pay more attention to the details of the face. It's not very difficult, not at all... as a matter of fact, right now, I feel very content. I felt as though I've made some promising progress. This style appears more anatomically correct and more realistic, and different... yet it's still "me".
...Eh, I wouldn't consider this an art update though. It's not all that ground-breaking, xD I just found a style that caught my eye. Basically, to sum it all up, I had an "art fart" and something finally clicked in this uncreative head of mine. This style looks very interesting to work with. I wish to see if this is something that I can potentially develop over time.
So the next guildie might look a little bit different. We'll see. :)

8.1.2012: This is just an improvement meme I did. I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while; I'm just posting this here to let you know that this journal is still alive and kicking. xD
