I've been wanting to post this long time ago but took me time to organize the thoughts and put it in writing. Most of you are probably wondering how to become a part of the 'staff' or how are the 'staff' being picked. I will try to answer everything about being a staff on this post.
First of all, being a 'staff' doesn't give special privilege in terms of items or favors. We are all equal and deserves equal treatment, but being a staff means more work and responsibility. Although in general, we do not impose anyone to do beyond their means. Second, being a staff means having the need to control their emotions and to think more logical. Staff is highly advised not to engage in anything that would tarnish the name of the guild. We all know it is very hard to do, sometimes things gets heated up and we sometimes lose our head, so that alone is really hard to maintain. Of course its not bad to burst out sometimes, just try to fix it after cooling off. Third, it is important to remember that this is just a game, and it is far from being a career, so even if you applied for staff, please prioritize your family and your real life.
So, how do you apply or get selected as staff? To be honest, we really need a lot of helping hand in managing the guild to make it active, fun and organized. But the thing is, we feel bad approaching someone and appoint them to be staff knowing it could put pressure to them and ruin their fun. We would be very glad if you tell us upfront that you wanted to be a staff to help us with the day-to-day operation of the guild. So if you do want to become a staff, please let us know by composing a small letter stating your intention to become a staff. Included on the letter, please let us know your desired area of responsibility and your plans in fulfilling the proposed role. The letter doesn't need to be long, just enough to convey your intention and your plans.
Here are some example letters:
I'd like to apply as a staff, I'd like to help in keeping the guild chat alive and in order by greeting guildmates who goes online, remind guildmates about proper manners and help them with game information.
I'm not very talkative, but I like doing dungeons a lot. I would like to apply as dungeon crawler and help guildmates with their missions that involves a dungeon.
I'm a newbie, I barely know anything about the game, but I can handle website, can I apply as staff in managing the website? I have some ideas that I applied on other forums, we could use it on the guild website.
What do we get being a staff? Hopefully, we can get something for you but to be honest and true, we don't have anything to offer at the moment except for putting your name on the About Us page and making your in-game character a 'Senior' status in the guild. But let's see what we can set in the future. In the end, it is still about serving your fellow guild member and having fun.
